Green is set to be the colour of 2021, with both fashion and interior trends leading the way to a revival of possibly the most beneficial colour in the spectrum.
Green is the colour of wellbeing and healing. When we walk in nature, along ancient hedgerows, under the canopy of great oaks, across heathlands or grassy parks, we connect to the natural world around us and in doing so we allow our daily stresses to ease and melt away.
Green is also a colour strongly associated with the Arts and Crafts movement of 1880 -1910. The popularity of the botanical designs of William Morris are already making a return to our homes as wallpaper, printed fabrics and traditional handcrafted furniture returns.
For a floral image-maker, like myself, green is a colour I associate with Spring and the renewal of the natural plant world. The light acid-green than flourishes forth in Spring fills me with soul-stirring inspiration from which new projects set seed and grow.
Whatever the colour green means to you, be sure to welcome this wonderfully beneficial colour into your home and creative space this season.
I N T R O D U C T I N G
The Spellflower Project
I cannot sit still when it comes to creative endeavours, I've always got my head in a new project or musing. In the past, I've handmade heirloom dolls, knitted little jumbers to dress them as well as designing repeat patterns for fabric printing.
It's fair to say I like to keep busy and share my projects and creative inspirations. I've created an additional Instagram account whereby I can share posts.
Right now, I'm embroidering my way through the winter months as I wait for the bulbs and blossoms to return to the garden.
